TREASURE HUNT

"The Order of the Silver Dragon" association has organized the first public search for lost treasure (Zagreb, 28th May 2005.). The goal of the game was to follow the clues hidden all over the city, solve puzzles and find the buried treasure in the shortest time possible.
To prevent the treasure hunt from being too simple, every riddle was coded - teams having to return to the base, stationed at "Fantasy Club" on Katarinin trg 3, to find a solution. The game was designed for 11 teams of 4 players. Due to the high interest, most of the teams reserved their place in the competition up front. Some of the riddles were of elimination type so the goal could be reached only by the 3 fastest and most competent teams. The idea was conceived after our association participated in a similar event during Istrakon in Pazin. Additional inspiration were Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code". Besides having a good time, the goal of the game was to get to know the old center of Zagreb and to learn about its secrets and past.

The game started at 15:00 h near Manduševac on Ban Josip Jelačić square and the competition lasted until nightfall. "Treasure Hunt" was organized with the help of tourist agency "Ban Tours" and company "Pevec" which donated 3 shovels needed to dig out the treasure itself. The main prize were 4 genuine silver rings sponsored by jewelry maker "Mario" at Krvavi Most while secondary prizes were books by Dan Brown. The event was covered by media, including newspapers and television networks – TV network RTL was reporting on the event while following one of the teams.
